چکیده
Background and aimsThere are indications for tracking of circulating total cholesterol concentration (TC) from childhood to later in life. An increased lifelong TC exposure increases the risk developing atherosclerosis, however little is known about determinants early We aimed describe Norwegian offspring aged 6, 12 24 months, explore if maternal TC, breastfeeding diet associated with TC.MethodsIn this cross-sectional study, mothers 6 (n = 629), 258) 263) months completed a questionnaire offspring's took home-based dried blood spot samples themselves their offspring. The participating at age also participated offspring.ResultsOffspring showed wide range all three groups. Twenty one percent had ? 5.1 mmol/l. There was significant (r 0.42, p < 0.001). Maternal positively groups (0.20 ? ? 0.40, 0.001 all). Breastfeeding ages (0.05 0.26, 0.03), but not months.ConclusionsThe probable infancy life highlights importance identification children elevated who can benefit preventive measures.

Paliurus spina-christi Mill (Rhamnaceae) has been used in folk medicine as a hypocholesterolemic agent. In this study, the effect of total fruit extract on lowering lipid content of serum was investigated. Male rats were introduced streptozocin, subsequently fed with a high cholesterol diet and concomitantly treated with various doses of the extract. After 8 days, serum levels of cholesterol, t...

One hundred three baboon infants, the progeny of an equal number of dams and seven sires, were breast fed or were fed prepared formulas containing 1.2, 29, or 61 mg/dl cholesterol for 14 weeks. We measured serum cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations at birth and at 3-week intervals, and cholesterol absorption at 12 weeks. Dietary cholesterol had a significant effect on serum cholesterol c...
